The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on Friday (December 25) affirmed Team India's playing XI for the Boxing Day Test, beginning December 26 in Melbourne.
True to form, Prithvi Shaw has been dropped from the playing XI after his lackluster display in the primary Test at Adelaide, with Shubman Gill set to make his red-ball debut at the notable MCG.

Gill will open the innings close by Mayank Agarwal followed by Cheteshwar Pujara and Ajinkya Rahane, who will lead the side in the rest of the arrangement without standard captain Virat Kohli.
