CSK CEO Kasi Viswanathan has insisted that MS Dhoni will turn up for Chennai Super Kings in the upcoming edition of Indian premier league, to be played in April 2021, possibly in India. Viswanathan has also added that this was just a bad year and CSK have no need to change the entire system.

While number of senior players have failed to deliver, skipper MS Dhoni has himself been below par with the bat. In 12 matches this season he has scored 199 runs at a strike rate of just 118.45. although the 2021 IPL season is just six months away, the fact that Dhoni is 39 and past his prime means that there is uncertainty surrounding his future as well. The former Indian captain of course keeps his cards close to his chest, but CSK CEO insisted that Dhoni lead the team in 2021 IPL.

“Sure, undoubtedly. I’m very assured that Dhoni will lead CSK in 2021. He has received three titles for us within the IPL. That is the primary year we’ve got not certified for the playoffs. No different workforce has finished that. One dangerous year doesn’t imply we should change every little thing” Viswanathan informed on Monday.

“We did not play to our potential this season. We misplaced video games that we must always have received. That pushed us again. The withdrawals of Suresh Raina and Harbhajan Singh coupled with COVID instances within the camp meant that the stability of the facet was upset” he added.

CSK have two matches left this season and even though they are already eliminated from the playoffs race, they have the power to disrupt the dynamics for other teams, this was also the first time the Southern Indian Franchise have been out of the playoffs race in the IPL, having succeeded 10 out of 10 times in the past.
